Social Media

Gorgeous Couture promote their brand using a variety of social networking sites, all of which help the audience to become more aware of what Gorgeous Couture is about and the identity they have given themselves whilst also spreading the brands awareness. Social Networking is a key form of promotion that the brand push for and rightly so, seeing as the only way to purchase Gorgeous Couture products is through online shopping, so this allows their products to be shared and spoken about in many ways.

The most beneficial and important push for the brand is their Facebook page. This in total has 5970 likes and attracts women who want that luxury lifestyle as well as an elegant dress. The way the brand express themselves through Facebook speaks a lot for the brand as they do not bombard their audience they leave them wanting more from the brand which means that they are constantly talking about it. This is an interactive way to draw in the consumer as this allows people from all over the world to unite and speak through the brand.

Within the Facebook page the brand includes:

  • Images of celebrities wearing Gorgeous Couture items which promotes these in a desirable manner as they then want to be like the celebrity and believe that by wearing this they can buy into some for of lifestyle.
  • Check it out posts are key, this draws you attention due to the persuasive language
  • Coming soon posts - this keeps the audience intrigued which means that they will feel the urge to constantly check the page waiting for new deliveries and styles that are available.
  • Discounts codes are commonly posted - this means that the audience feel as though the brand are giving them something back which makes them want to shop there again and again. This also means that the consumers may buy more than one item at a time which increases sales.
  • Fashion shoots - new and old stock which draws attention to these pieces.
  • Bloggers edit - how to wear, what is in trend and general ways of attraction for the garments are shown advertising these items.
  • Mood boards, tips, how to wear/style points are also posted a lot to give a visual support from the brand.
  • Student discount is also advertised at certain times which make them feel as they are having a sophisticated garment which would usually be a little over priced for their budget but is not affordable.
  • Quizzes, competitions and PR job interns are posted to allow interaction with the brand and the target audience. This allows them to again feel as though they are getting something back from the brand.
This is a clever way to advertise as this allows the audience to constantly be thinking of the brand. However, with the direction we want this to go in, this will allow a younger audience to eventually be targeted with out interactive chat which allows them to socialise within their friends also helping each other out when it comes to picking a final outcome for the dress. These posts are irregular from Gorgeous Couture which allows the consumer to take in what they have seen for a few days giving them time to act on the latest post. This is another key point for the brand.

Twitter in terms of promoting the brand is pretty much similar, this has 8693 followers and promotes in a similar way as the Facebook but this pushes more so for the promotion offers along with the spotted celebrities supporting these elegant dresses which helps to encourage sales. Twitter however, included interview and behind the scene footage which allows the consumer to be given first hand look which again makes them feel as though the brand are giving something back. This is a key form or promotion both visually and verbally for the brand which helps to create more personal interactions as the questions asked are always answered by someone who is involved with the company. The posts on Twitter are not as pushed for which makes this even more relaxed than Facebook however, the use of the hashtag makes the brand be able to go globally spread.
Key events such as Vogues Fashion Night Out, LFW and VMA's are key posts that the brand keep the consumer up to date with which are iconic events. This shows celebrities wearing the brand which again pushes for sales.

Instagram is another form of promotion within this social networking that has 466 followers which proves how this needs more emphasis and awareness targeted in this form of our promotion. The existing posts that this involves is styling methods which helps to show the consumer how they can wear the garments. Discount codes, celebrity influences, food and the general lifestyle is something that is promoted too which makes this more informal due to focusing on aspects other than Gorgeous Couture which is something that can be compared. With Instagram the hashtag can also be used which helps to allow consumer to search for this and also place this on their posts which allows al followers to unite through this element. This is something that is key and something that we should really think about when it comes to our launching of our idea.

This proves how Gorgeous Couture are trying to reach out with the brands awareness trying to gain new customers as well as targeting the existing. This also provides the consumer with something that is updated on a regular basis so they are made aware of what is going on with the brands expansion.
