Celebrity Influence

Celebrity Influence

Gorgeous Couture as a brand has a very high-end, luxury appeal and this is largely down to its celebrity connections. A lot of celebrities have worn dresses from Gorgeous Couture and a lot of the dresses are designed from celebrity influence.

TV stars (reality/soap) are the kinds of celebrities that are commonly seen in Gorgeous Couture garments which is great for the brand as these are usually well known celebrities among many age groups, with them being shown on TV each week.

Aswell as some TV stars wearing Gorgeous Couture items, some garments are designed to almost exact replicas from items that very famous A-list celebrities have been seen in, and sold at just a fraction of the price...

In terms of the angle we've chosen to take for this project, the younger celebrities are going to be more of interest because these are the ones that 16 year old girls leaving school will be most familiar with.

Inspiration can be taken from young female stars that the prom target market can identify with, such as girls from The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea, popular female TV stars such as Michelle Keegan and Jennifer Metcalfe and young musicians such as Diana Vickers, Ellie Goulding, The Saturdays etc so that when choosing which dresses to include in the prom collection and which to use for the promotional images it will be important to look at what such stars have been wearing recently and what styles/colours of evening dresses have been popular at recent awards ceremonies and exclusive celebrity events.
