Photo Shoot Inspiration

For our photo-shoot, we're using both location and studio. In terms of studio images we are simply taking basic shots of the model in the dress to act as the photos used when browsing through the dresses online. These will be simple, straight up and down shots that will be used on the website and Facebook page in the 'Prom Dress' album. It's our location shoot that will have the most creative direction.

Our concept is to use the stairs in the Harris Museum to create 'prom' style images that give the impression of luxury and decadence. We want to have the dresses flowing down the stairs with the model standing with her back turned to the camera. The candid style of the model facing away from the camera is also something we want to focus on to give more attention to the dress in the picture opposed to the model. In addition, we don't want the images to look too staged or serious- prom is about having fun and that is definitely something we want to capture within the imagery. Weather permitting, we would also like to try and take some images outside of the Harris Museum on the steps, as this looks like a picturesque prom venue. Again, we envisage similar results of the dresses trailing behind and our model twirling around, as if she was at her prom having an amazing time.
