Prom Lifestyle

When it comes to a prom, there is a lot more to think about than just the dress. The hair, make-up, shoes and accessories have to be just as perfect as the garment, with all having to match accordingly. Given the idea we have come up with, we want to make sure Gorgeous Couture focus on delivering a prom lifestyle to their customer as well as the dress.

Popular trends for hair styles are up-do's, braids and plaits, and Grecian style waves. These lend themselves well to a variety of dresses, and ultimately are very elegant on the wearer. Up-do's also don't cover the dress's detail, which is a tact used on the Gorgeous Couture website- none of the models have their hair down. As Grecian waves and braids seem to be increasingly popular, this is something to consider when creating a 'lookbook' with the dresses.

Ordinarily, nails usually matched or complimented the colour of the dress, but since the emergence of nail art, that has become ever more present within prom nail designs. All the designs are classic and sophisticated however.

A popular make-up trend for prom now is sultry eye make up. Smokey-eyes in a variety of colours and shades that compliment their dresses. Statement lips are also something seen within prom make-up, but it's mainly all about they eyes. This is probably because of the new reality TV culture, whereby The Only Way Is Essex girls are seen to wear heavy eye make-up and false lashes frequently.

The prom 'look' isn't finished without a range of accessories from shoes and bags to jewelry. Similarly to all other aspects, these too match and compliment the original dress. The general consensus is usually something sparkly/glittery, and very delicate and dainty. Although Gorgeous Couture don't do shoes/bags/accessories, for our chosen idea we want to be able to show consumers how an entire outfit would look by recommending types of accessories.
